Network Server Does Not Start

Post by jpcote »

Hi,

I'm on macOS 10.12. When I try to start the network server in the Phidget Control Panel, it says "Starting" and then "Couldn't start".

I tried launching phidget22networkserver from the command line and I get the following error:
ERR [netsrv][2017-08-23T17:11:19 server.c+115 processconfig()]: failed to read configuration file [/etc/phidgets/phidget22networkserver.pc]: 'IO Issue'
I checked and there is no /etc/phidgets directory. Do I need to manually create the phidget22networkserver.pc file? Shouldn't this have been done during install?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Since I was getting nowhere with this issue, I decided to call Phidgets' support. The technician already knew about the problem.

The solution is simply to untick the checkbox called "Enable User Dictionaries". Once you do that, boom!, it works:

Hope this helps someone from the future!

Cheers!
