ifKit dropping out

I have a 1203 ifKit (without the display) that has started to exhibit it an odd behavior. At times, when I turn on a digital output the ifKit just drops off line for a second, and then comes back, with all I/O reset. It is hooked up to a RaspberryPi and on the Pi I can see the the USB port disconnect and reconnect...

My guess is this is being caused by a power issue. But, the ifKit is connected to the Pi by a USB hub and is not being powered by the Pi. There are three sensors connected to analog ports: humidity, light and temperature. No other outputs are enabled when this problem happens and it only happens when an output is enabled.

Any ideas?
