12V LED Digital output using Phidget 1018_2 possible?

Hello,

I have a 12v LED that I want to power using Phidget 888 (1018_2). Is it possible? I get 5 v and I tried using a step up DC board but didn't work as well. I read that 1012 board can handle this by providing external power but is the same principle possible using phidget 8/8/8/ board?

Thanks

The outputs on the 1012 are completely different than the ones on the 1018- they behave a like a switch to ground which is why you can provide a voltage source of your choice.

To get similar behaviour from a 1018, you'd have to use the 5V output to activate an external MOSFET or relay that completes the circuit with your LED and 12V supply. You can use the 3054 or 3052 depending on your LED's forward current rating.
