phidget 1048 disconnecting

hi there. i have gone through as much troubleshooting as possible but a bit stuck.

i have a coffee roaster with thermocouple probes attached to a 1048 widget. The roaster has been working fine but all of a sudden i am getting the temperature readings drop out.

i have replaced the usb and switched to a new laptop. hopefully ruling out usb issues.

am i correct in thinking more than likely at this stage it is the phidget itself that is the problem
