Solenoid and Duty Cycles

I am trying to get the maximum push force from a linear solenoid by adjusting PWM break cycle (duty cycle) using DCC1003 but changing duty cycle on DCC does not appear to make any difference. The solenoid is pushing a weight so I can tell if there is difference in power. The solenoid specification s...

Software update 1.6.20201120

Changelog for software update 1.6.20201120 says there is a new firmware for 1067 and STC100x but does not provide any detail as to what the firmware update is fixing or adding/removing.

Could you please elaborate on changes/fixes in the firmware?

Hub_0001?

It would be great to have an option of a vint hub with more than 6 ports or a way to daisy chain two or more hubs.

My projects are at the limit of hub ports and given how granular phidget devices are in their function it's not difficult to exhaust ports on a hub.

Re: hkt22 bad position?

I figured out what it was, so I have question on guarantees and also posting for posterity in case it's useful for someone else. After much checking, testing, and swaping components out - it appears two things have happened: 1. The optical disc is not working well, when I replaced with another disc ...

hkt22 bad position?

Hi I have HKT22 optical encoder (3531_0) attached to stepper 3331 which is driving a leadscrew. I am trying to do a reliability test by stepping e.g. 60,000 steps in one direction and then another to test repeatability of positioning. The positioning repeatability/accuracy as measured by a Vernier i...

Update 1.6.20200709 / 1067 Firmware upgrade

The Phidgets sw update 1.6.20200709 states there is a 1067 Firmware upgrade but does not go into detail (at least not here: https://www.phidgets.com/?view=changelog ) Can you please point me to the detail of what changes have been made to 1067 firmware in this release, any specific issues or bugs fi...

Vint TTL quadrature encoder

It would be nice to have a vint-based quadrature encoder that supports TTL signal and take advantage of noise suppression TTL offers.even better if encoder phidgets could have interface for both HTL and TTL. I guess one can take TTL pins that correspond to HTL and use phidgets encoder as-is but this...

Vint board fixing suggestion

I quite like VINT boards as they have small form factor and a nice plastic box. The plastic boxes can be fixed using 2.5mm screw to a mounting surface. I think the boxes should have opening for a 3mm screw instead of 2.5mm. The reason for this is that 2.5mm falls into 'precision' category so it's no...

Re: Stepper Acceleration and Velocity clarification

You were (unsurprisingly  ) right. The max velocity will go to 115k only. Being able to set the Stepper.Velocity above the 115k max makes sense as I guess this allows programmer to have more options for achieving different acceleration curves. I have attached a diagram showing how 300k velocit...

Re: New Phidgets suggestions

Thanks - I am aware of the pigtails and occasionaly use them. It's less than ideal as the barrel connector itself will be fairly long then few inches of pigtail so it gets messy and bulky quite quickly if you are trying to package few components into a small box.
