Measure current drawn by stepper motor

Hi.
I am wondering: is there a way to detect anomalies while operating a stepper motor? Measuring the current drawn by the stepper can be a way to detect if something is going wrong? I am thinking about a failing limit switch when the stepper seeks zero position at the beginning of operations.

Open a device, attach it later

Hello.

Is there a way to open an unconnected device, and get the attach event later when you connect it?

If I try to open an unconnected device, the Open statement throws an exception after the timeout. After that, no attach event is received.

Re: Triggering touch sensor with an object

Thank you. I am trying with tinfoil and it works. Alas, I will not be able to use this solution. I'm building an interactive book with big white pages onto which I will project video clips. The problem is that the tinfoil may rest against the sensor much more than 45-60 seconds, so the periodic sens...

Triggering touch sensor with an object

Hi.
Is there a way to trigger a capacitive touch sensor (1129_1B) using an object instead of a finger/hand?
I need to use something very slim so that I'll be able to hide it between two cardboard sheets.
Thank you

Max number of antennas

Hi. I'm working with 42 antennas. I can connect at max about 20 antennas on a single PC - the Power supply Is 4 Ampere, so the problem shouldn't be current. Is There a teoric limit to the Number of antennas I can attach to a Win10 machine?

Hall Effect joysticks

Hi.

I see the 1113_0 Mini Joy Stick Sensor connects to a VINT HUB on two ports, handled as VoltageRatioInput channels.
My question is: can I treat the same way any industrial Hall effect joystick , like the ones fom Apem, for instance?

Thanks

Cascading of VINT hubs is allowed?

I'm considering a project using a lot of stepper motors.
I'm wondering how many of them I can handle on a single Windows PC.
Can I cascade VINT hubs to control a large number Stepper Phidgets?

Thanks
