Idler sprockets are standard sprockets with an integrated bearing that causes them to spin freely. This is useful for adding tension a chain system without putting additional load on the motor. They can also be used to route chains around so they're not in the way of other parts of the system.
The included mounting spacers can be slid onto a bolt, one on each side of the sprocket.
The spacer only contacts the inner bore of the sprocket, so it can be securely mounted while still allowing the sprocket to spin freely.
This sprocket is compatible with series #40 chain. The amount of chain required depends on the desired distance between your two sprockets; for installation details see the Rotary Motion Guide.
