Program hangs at "waitForAttachment();"

Postby MaghTheMighty » Sat Aug 13, 2011 11:58 pm

I am new to Phidgets and in the process of writing my first program I made a simple mistake that I believe others new to this might make, so I thought I would document it here.

The "Get Started Guide" uses a InterfaceKit object to communicate with the device. However, your device may not use this object. If you are hanging at "waitForAttachment", make sure you are using the correct class.

If you double click on the device you are trying to communicate with in the "Phidget Control Panel" it will run a program to show your devices state. In my case, the program was "Spatial - full". Non-coincidently, the class I needed to communicate was "Spatial" instead of InterfaceKit.

It's possible that I am the only one who made this mistake, but just in case....
