General Servo Motor FAQ

Why is my servo making a buzzing noise (even when it's stationary)?

Servo motors have a built in control system that is very finely tuned. Even a small load can cause a servo to constantly re-adjust to hold its position, which makes the buzzing noise. This is completely normal behaviour for a servo motor, and is nothing to be concerned about unless the motor is also overheating.
